The Bearsville Theater in Woodstock is preparing to host a multi-night musical residency this month. Guitarist, singer-songwriter, and bandleader Grahame Lesh will team up with guitarist Daniel Donato for a three-night run as the Grahame Lesh and Daniel Donato Duo. The performances are scheduled for Thursday, June 11, Friday, June 12, and Saturday, June 13.
The upcoming Woodstock shows serve as a key stop in Lesh’s expansive summer 2026 touring season. The Marin County-based musician is currently in the middle of a highly collaborative period. In addition to his duo work with Donato, his summer lineup includes a trio appearance with Warren Haynes and Donato at the Hudson River Music Festival, alongside multiple performance dates for the Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration.
Lesh’s current musical output draws heavily from the deep lineage and songbook of the Grateful Dead. He describes the music as a continuing tradition that expands through new generations of players. His recent performances have focused on exploring unreleased and lesser-known compositions from his family’s history, which he treats as a foundation for ongoing improvisation and onstage spontaneity.
During a spring run of performances leading up to the June residency, Lesh and his ensembles debuted several rare pieces. Audiences heard live performances of “Equinox,” a long-dormant 1970s Grateful Dead composition written by his father, Phil Lesh, which the original band never officially performed live. The sets also featured “Shaman’s Song,” a track co-written by Grahame, Phil, and his brother Brian Lesh.
