Orange County’s annual Freedom Fest will return to Thomas Bull Memorial Park in Montgomery on Saturday, July 18. The free community event features family activities, live music, a regional music competition, and historical reenactments. The evening will conclude at dusk with a combined fireworks and drone show.

This year’s schedule includes a special recognition honoring the 250th anniversary of the United States. The park gates are scheduled to open at 2:00 p.m. at the county facility, which is located at 211 Route 416.

A Battle of the Bands competition featuring local high school student groups will begin the live entertainment at 2:30 p.m. The scheduled musical performers include Chaos in the Kitchen from Garage Music School, Common Ground from School of Rock, and the New York School of Music House Band. Country-rock group Black Dirt Bandits will later take the main stage for a performance starting at 6:30 p.m.

Historical presentations will be provided by Revolutionary War reenactors starting at 3:00 p.m. and continuing throughout the afternoon, with a scheduled intermission from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A dedicated children’s area will provide sensory activities, coloring stations, bounce houses, and carnival-style games. The site will also host a Bubble Bus attraction at 3:00 p.m. followed by a family magic show by the Great Charlini at 5:00 p.m.

Local food and craft vendors will be positioned throughout the park grounds for the duration of the event. On-site vehicle parking is free for all attendees.

Organizers permit guests to bring their own lawn chairs, blankets, food, and non-alcoholic beverages into the venue. Attendees are prohibited from bringing glass containers, domestic pets, personal sparklers, or pop-up tents. In the event of inclement weather, a backup rain date has been established for Saturday, July 25.
