Visitors touring the Staatsburgh State Historic Site (75 Mills Mansion Drive US-1, Staatsburg, NY 12580) this December will be treated to live classical guitar as part of the site’s annual Gilded Age Christmas celebration.
Classical guitarist Dan Stevens will perform holiday music and traditional guitar repertoire in the mansion’s formal dining room on Saturdays, Dec. 13 and 20, from 1 to 3 p.m. The performance is included with the price of admission.
The Beaux-Arts mansion, once the Gilded Age country home of Ruth Livingston Mills and financier Ogden Mills, overlooks the Hudson River and features 79 rooms filled with original furnishings, artwork and décor. The home was redesigned and expanded in 1895 by noted architect Stanford White.
Holiday tours begin Friday, Nov. 28, and are available by reservation. The site will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, reopening daily Dec. 26–30. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, and free for children 12 and under. Reservations are strongly recommended. Click here to make reservations.
The site’s gift shop will be open during tour hours, offering books, jewelry, apparel, toys and other gift items. Visitors may also explore the grounds, including Hudson River overlooks and woodland trails in the adjoining Mills Memorial State Park.
