Spring Into Newburgh, a day-long event featuring art, shopping, wellness, and community, will take place Saturday, May 10th in Downtown Newburgh. A collaboration between Safe Harbors of the Hudson, the Newburgh Farmers’ Market, Newburgh Mercantile, Art on the Block, Wellness Shines on the Green, and Let’s Bike Hudson Valley, the event promises to showcase the vibrant culture and diverse offerings of Downtown Newburgh. Don’t miss this opportunity to support local businesses and nonprofits, enjoy delicious food, and run, walk, or bike the streets of Newburgh to celebrate the season.
Safe Harbors’ Run/Walk for the Green 5K

Run, walk, or stroll through the City of Newburgh in Safe Harbors of the Hudson’s annual charity 5K! With a course that features the incredible architecture of Newburgh’s historic district and stunning Hudson River views, this community-centered race is fun for runners and non-runners of all ages.
The 5K will benefit Safe Harbors Green, a vibrant park on the corner of Broadway and Liberty Street that hosts an array of community events and performances throughout the year. From the annual Ritz Kidz Circus and Salsa Under the Stars nights, to the Newburgh Farmers’ Market, outdoor movies, and live concerts, Safe Harbors Green is a center of activity and community in Newburgh. 100% of 5K proceeds will support annual maintenance of the Green and free summer programming in the park.
Adult registration is $35 in advance, and $45 on the day of the race. Registration for youth under 18 is free. All participants will receive a complimentary Run for the Green t-shirt and race bib, as well as refreshments before and after the race. Wellness shines on the green

Now in its 5th year, Wellness Shines on the Green is a showcase for resources available for healthy living in the Newburgh community! There will be something for everyone, regardless of your level of fitness, personal goals, or time constraints. Join us for free screenings, treatments, and classes, and discover information on low-cost options. We provide a low-pressure social atmosphere to encourage community connections, mutual support, and education, empowering everyone to make the best choices for themselves! There will be local vendors selling affordable wellness related products, services, and food, as well as entertainment, music, and kids activities.
Led by Angela Paul-Gaito, owner of APG Pilates on Liberty Street, Wellness Shines on the Green was originally created by a small group of local health and wellness business owners and service providers to connect local health practitioners with the Newburgh community in a relaxed and fun environment.

Art on the Block

Join us for the next edition of Art on the Block Art Market, being held on the last block of Broadway between Grand Street and Colden Street overlooking the Hudson River. An outdoor urban art marketplace featuring over 35 artists from various parts of the Mid-Hudson region, Art on the Block will feature a wide mix of mediums and styles on display by artists with skills ranging from professional to up-and-coming. Many artists will be doing ‘live’ painting demonstrations. Food trucks will be on site, and the block will be filled with the sounds of a live production of cinematic grooves.

Three river cities. Three days. Three amazing rides. Join for one – or all three – of these fun bicycle rides that aim to introduce people of all ages to the many physical and mental benefits of cycling. Join us before each ride for a FREE bike tune-up!
Let’s Bike HV celebrates both National Bike Month and Mental Health Awareness Month. After all, cycling is excellent exercise that can connect people to nature and helps reduce stress, anxiety and depression by lowering cortisol and producing more “feel good” endorphins. Plus: It’s fun! These rides, which will highlight bike routes to different Scenic Hudson parks and preserves, will also demonstrate how these vibrant cities can be explored via bicycle. Pedal on!
