The 2026 Rivertowns Pumpkin Trail has placed 43 artist-painted pumpkin sculptures across six Westchester County villages. They are on display in Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry, Hastings-on-Hudson, Irvington, Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown through Sunday, Nov. 1. Every sculpture is up for auction.
Local artists turned professionally finished fiberglass pumpkins into original works. They are on view along Main Streets, at train stations and outside village halls. The artists include high school students and teachers, a Google design leader and an illustrator whose work has appeared in The Wall Street Journal. The new public art exhibition was organized in partnership with the mayors of all six villages.
Visitors can take a free, self-guided tour of the trail while exploring local downtowns, shops and restaurants. A digital scavenger hunt, the Great Rivertowns Pumpkin Hunt, turns the exhibition into a game. Participants find sculptures, answer questions and complete challenges, with family, challenge and remote options.

Some of the sculptures will ride on a 24-foot float called the “Steam Punk’in Factory” in the Tarrytown Halloween Parade on Saturday, Oct. 24. The parade starts at 5 p.m. along Broadway in Tarrytown. Lead sponsor Harley Falasca and the trail’s founder built the float together.
The online auction closes Sunday, Nov. 1, at 9 p.m. ET. Starting bids are $400 for stacked pumpkins and $500 for large single pumpkins, and buy-it-now prices are $2,500 and $3,000. Proceeds support future public art programs in the Rivertowns.
“The Rivertowns share a river, a legend and a love of Halloween,” said Kristina Schmidt, founder of the Rivertowns Pumpkin Trail. “This fall they share a gallery.” Falasca Home Improvement donated the hand-built wooden pedestals that hold the sculptures.
