The Gallery at Kingston Social is hosting a local art exhibition titled The Allure of Landscape through Sept. 29, 2026. Curated by Pinkwater Gallery curator and Kingston Social co-founder Anne Sanger, the show features work by Hudson Valley artists Kate McGloughlin, Cris Gamet, and Margaret G. Still.
The exhibition includes paintings of the Ashokan Reservoir by McGloughlin, an Olivebridge native, master printmaker, painter, and President Emerita of the Woodstock School of Art. Her featured works explore generational themes connected to her family heritage in the region.
Saugerties-based artist Gamet contributes en plein air landscape paintings created with a contemporary approach reflecting her background growing up on a Finger Lakes dairy farm. Fellow Saugerties artist Still displays small cinematic paintings inspired by road trips, abandoned roadways, and surreal color palettes.
Located at 237 Fair Street in Uptown Kingston, the gallery is participating in Art Walk Kingston on Sept. 19 and Sept. 20. The venue is open six days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with closures on Wednesdays.
All featured artwork in the exhibition is currently available for purchase. Further information on the gallery schedule and featured artists can be accessed directly at the venue during normal operating hours.
