The Bearsville Theater (291 Tinker St, Woodstock, NY 12498) has unveiled its summer season schedule, featuring a diverse roster of jam music, post-punk, and Americana performers at the historic Woodstock venue.
The season begins June 11 with a three-night residency through June 13 featuring Grahame Lesh and Daniel Donato. According to theater organizers, the run marks the first time the two inventive voices in jam music have performed together.
The June calendar continues with Americana act Hurray for the Riff Raff on June 17, followed by soul artist Swamp Dogg on June 18 and rock band Deer Tick on June 23. The month concludes June 25 with a performance by post-punk pioneers Gang of Four, featuring Downtown Boys.
July and August highlights include a performance by singer-songwriter Patty Griffin on July 10 and a Jerry Garcia birthday celebration by The Garcia Project on Aug. 1. The summer season will close Aug. 22 with Pink Talking Fish, a group known for mashups of three legendary rock bands.
The theater is part of the 15-acre Bearsville Center, a site with a musical history dating back to the 1960s. The property was established by manager and entrepreneur Albert Grossman and has hosted recording sessions for artists including The Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan. The theater itself, which opened in 1989, was constructed from an 18th-century barn and designed by John Storyk.
The venue features an immersive concert hall and a lounge space with a full bar. Tickets and the full concert calendar are available through the theater’s website.
