Mount Peter (51 Old Mt Peter Rd, Warwick, NY 10990),i known as New York’s Family Mountain, has officially opened for the 2025–2026 winter season, marking its 90th anniversary as a beloved destination for skiing, snowboarding, and winter recreation.
For nine decades, the Warwick ski area has drawn families and snow enthusiasts to its slopes for lessons, runs, and tubing adventures. The mountain also offers a cafeteria and Pete’s Pub, providing a place to warm up and enjoy the season.
“This year is incredibly meaningful to us,” said Executive Manager Amy Sampson-Cutler. “Ninety seasons of smiles, winter fun, and shared experiences—that’s what makes Mount Peter so special. We are honored to celebrate our history while continuing to provide an amazing place for families and future generations to fall in love with skiing, snowboarding, and the magic of winter.”
Mount Peter continues to offer free beginner lessons on weekends and holidays, as well as private and family lessons for all skill levels. Its popular snow tubing hill, suitable for birthday parties and group outings, is also back for the season.
The mountain plans to celebrate its milestone year with special promotions, commemorative experiences, and community events. The anniversary season will culminate in a 90th Anniversary celebration on Jan. 31, 2026, featuring live entertainment, family-friendly activities, and a tribute to the mountain’s legacy.
