Kaatsbaan Cultural Park (120 Broadway, Tivoli, NY 12583) will host a New Work Preview from The Bang Group on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 6 p.m. in Studio 2 of the Studio Complex. Tickets are free and can be reserved in advance.
Directed by choreographer David Parker and dancer Jeffrey Kazin, The Bang Group is known for its inventive percussive dance works, combining tap, body percussion, voice, and movement. The company previously gained recognition at Kaatsbaan for Nut/Cracked, a playful reimagining of The Nutcracker.
The February 20 preview will feature new works-in-progress from the company’s project Sodbusters, which challenges traditional approaches to tap and percussive dance through humor, inventive gestures, and rhythmic experimentation.
Highlights include a contemporary duet co-choreographed by Parker and renowned choreographer and educator Sara Hook. The piece explores the interplay between past and present performances in the bodies of seasoned dancers.
