Safe Harbors of the Hudson will host its annual gala on Thursday, September 17, at 6 p.m. Billed as a Supernatural garden party on the Green, the event celebrates the 10th anniversary of Safe Harbors Green, a half-acre urban park located at the corner of Broadway and Liberty Street in downtown Newburgh.
During the event, the arts and housing nonprofit will present the 2026 Cornerstone of the Community award to Bryan Quinn, founder of One Nature plant nursery and landscape design. Quinn designed the park using biodynamic and sustainable techniques featuring native plant species, bioswales, and solar lighting.
The organization will also recognize Resorts World Hudson Valley as a stewardship partner for providing financial support for the park’s care and maintenance since 2022. A new tree will be dedicated on the park grounds in honor of the business.
Attendees will receive a Mexico City-inspired menu prepared by Fernando Cordova and Brandon Grimila of the Newburgh café Downstate. The evening will also include a silent auction and the unveiling of a newly commissioned 10th anniversary mural on the property.
Proceeds from ticket sales support the housing and arts programs managed by Safe Harbors of the Hudson. Tickets and registration details are available on the organization’s website.
