Chef Anthony Gonçalves has expanded his culinary footprint in Westchester with the opening of The PentClub Haus and Bar XI, a dual-concept luxury destination located on the 42nd floor of The Opus.
The new venues join Gonçalves’ existing restaurant, Kanopi, offering a mix of Portuguese fine dining and Japanese-inspired lounge culture. While the concepts were first announced earlier this year, both are now fully operational, marking a significant shift toward members-only hospitality in the region.
Bar XI functions as a 42-seat speakeasy and “listening room.” The space features a minimalist design with a custom marble bar and a strict no-photos policy intended to maintain its atmosphere of “quiet exclusivity.” The cocktail program, led by Danny Martins and Izzy Lewis, emphasizes Portuguese and Japanese flavors through drinks like the Shiso Harmony and the Zen Bee.
The bar also offers a limited food menu, including a dry-aged burger that is restricted to only 11 orders per night. While members of the adjacent club receive priority, 11 seats are set aside nightly for walk-in guests.
The PentClub Haus, the property’s members-only component, is designed to function as both a workspace and a social club. Membership tiers range from $2,500 for those under age 30 to $3,600 for full annual access.
The club’s amenities include a dedicated podcast studio, a sommelier-curated wine and cigar lounge, and “Break Feast,” a high-energy Sunday brunch featuring seafood and live music. Members also have access to the Kitchen Table, an omakase-style dining experience located within the Kanopi kitchen where chefs serve spontaneous, off-menu creations.
In addition to dining, the club has launched “The Haus Talks,” a series of cultural lectures and exhibitions produced in collaboration with Trimper Gallery.
The PentClub Haus and Bar XI are located at 3 Renaissance Square. Bar XI is open Tuesday through Saturday, with late-night service until 12:30 a.m. on weekends. Prospective members are required to complete an application for consideration through the club’s website.
