Comedian Tom Papa will bring his 2026 “Grateful Bread Tour” to The Capitol Theatre on Oct. 9, adding a Hudson Valley stop to his national tour.
Tickets for the show go on sale Friday, March 27, at 10 a.m., with a presale beginning Wednesday, March 25, at 10 a.m.
Papa, a veteran stand-up comic with more than 30 years in the industry, has built a career across television, film, radio, podcasts and live performance. He is known for his observational humor and has released six stand-up specials, including his most recent Netflix special, “Home Free,” which premiered in 2024.
The special, filmed at the Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C., explores themes of family life, aging, and everyday experiences. Papa has also released several other specials, including “What A Day!,” “You’re Doing Great!,” “Human Mule,” “Freaked Out” and “Tom Papa Live in New York City.”
In addition to stand-up, Papa is a frequent television and film presence, with roles in projects such as “Paper Spiders,” “The Informant,” “Analyze That” and HBO’s “Behind the Candelabra,” which earned multiple Emmy Awards. He also previously hosted NBC’s “The Marriage Ref” and appeared on “The New Adventures of Old Christine.”
Papa is the host of the podcast “Breaking Bread with Tom Papa” and has worked as a writer for The New Yorker. He has also authored multiple books, including “We’re All In This Together…So Make Some Room” and “You’re Doing Great! — And Other Reasons to Stay Alive.”
His current tour shares its name with his ongoing creative focus on food and humor. Papa has also partnered with kitchenware brand Nambé on a bread-making collection inspired by his passion for baking.
