King Tuff will take the stage at Tubby’s (586 Broadway, Kingston, NY 12401) on April 17 for an intimate Hudson Valley stop on his spring tour supporting MOO, his sixth full-length album.
The album, due March 27 via MUP Records and Thirty Tigers, represents a creative reset for King Tuff, the longtime project of musician Kyle Thomas. After several years exploring different sonic directions, Thomas returned to Vermont and to the analog recording methods that defined his earliest work.
MOO was recorded largely live to tape and embraces a loose, unfiltered approach to songwriting and performance. Its lead single, “Twisted On A Train,” captures the album’s spirit, blending humor, vulnerability and raw energy into a fast-moving rock track.
Thomas has described the new material as liberating, rejecting perfection in favor of feeling and momentum. Many of the songs on MOO are love songs, though often delivered through unconventional and playful narratives.
