Kaatsbaan Cultural Park will present harp innovator and composer Maeve Gilchrist in her multidisciplinary performance 12 Dances on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026, at 7 p.m. Tickets start at $15 with a valid student ID and $30 for general admission.
The performance marks the culmination of Gilchrist’s year-long 2025 residency at Kaatsbaan, during which she composed a new solo harp piece each month. 12 Dances weaves together those compositions with site-specific recordings, poetry and visual elements inspired by her daily observations at the Hudson Valley campus.
Known for her ethereal soundscapes, intricate layering and rhythmic compositions, Gilchrist uses the project to explore cycles of nature, color and humanity. Created amid ongoing political and environmental shifts, the work reflects a quiet meditation on the wonder of ordinary life, shaped one month at a time in her adopted Mid-Hudson Valley home.
