The Jazz Mandolin Project, the genre-blurring ensemble led by mandolinist Jamie Masefield, will perform at Assembly in Kingston (236 Wall St 3rd Floor, Kingston, NY 12401), on Feb. 7, part of its first full tour in more than 20 years. Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. ET.

Founded in 1993 in Burlington, Vermont, the Jazz Mandolin Project began as Masefield’s outlet for improvisation outside traditional jazz frameworks. Over the years, it evolved into a trio with a rotating cast of collaborators, earning acclaim for live performances that blend jazz, rock, funk, and world-inspired rhythms.

The current lineup includes Masefield, drummer Jon Fishman, bassist Danton Boller, and trumpeter/multi-instrumentalist Michael “Mad Dog” Mavridoglou. Known for spontaneous, boundary-pushing shows, JMP has built a devoted following that comes for the unpredictability and musical exploration in every performance.

The upcoming tour, with stops across New England and New York, marks a milestone for the band, promising fans an opportunity to experience the ensemble’s adventurous sound live once again.
